W. Robert Kreger
W. Robert (Bob) Kreger, A.I.A., is the driving force behind Kreger Design Build. Custom single family residences are his specialty. He wears “dos sombreros” (licensed A.I.A. architect and licensed NM general contractor) and is able to offer “one-stop shopping” at Kreger Design Build. The designing process and the building process become streamlined because Bob is able to consider aesthetics and budget and give solid advice while looking at the larger picture as well as the details. Spreadsheets are introduced at the beginning of the design phase in our custom homes and are reviewed regularly thereafter. In addition, a HERS Rater is now integrated into the design process.
Bob Kreger combines 15 years of experience as a GB-98 licensed homebuilder with 25 years innovation as a licensed A.I.A. architect. He is a master at strategizing and managing projects, having been a project manager for several major home building companies around the country. Practicing architecture in Boston during the 1980’s, some of his designs changed the look of the Boston waterfront skyline and he worked on an Arab prince’s palace details! His design build firm in Taos, NM, in the early 1990’s was responsible for commercial space, a church and single family residences.
Giving back to the community is very important to us. Bob is a Board Member of the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association (SFAHBA www.sfahba.com ) and is a Green Building Council Co-Chair www.sfahba.com/index.php/green/. He is currently Co-Chair of the 2009 Santa Fe Haciendas A Parade of Homes www.santafehometour.com. Bob is also the Chair of the 2009 SFAHBA Green Building Summit www.sfahba.com/index.php/green/events/. Bob is Co-Chair of the Santa Fe Chapter of New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA www.nmsea.org). Bob has been active in both the Santa Fe and Taos Habitat for Humanity and has been instrumental in the Building and Site Selection Committees. He was voted a ”Habitat Hero” in 2003 in Santa Fe. In 2007 he was chosen as one of 1250 people to travel to Nashville, TN, to study the Climate Project with Al Gore. He is studying to become a LEED AP. Educating the public about Climate Change and Energy Conservation is his passion!
Bob’s hobbies include skiing, bicycling, scuba diving and traveling.
Nancy Dean Kreger
Nancy Dean Kreger is the “better” half of the husband and wife team that makes up Kreger Design Build! Nancy and Bob were married in 2000 and she joined the firm in 2001. Her people skills are crucial during the creation of each custom home. Nancy joins Bob in client meetings and follows through with these clients during the important decision-making process of choosing all the “finishes”. She is on hand during the installation of these choices in the new home and helps translate the clients’ wishes with ease. Her attention to detail is impeccable.
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Design, Nancy brings her eye for fine design into the mix. She created Salmon Falls Artisans Showroom, a gallery featuring approximately 150 regional artists and fine craftspeople in western Massachusetts in the 1980’s. Her gallery was written about in the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Boston Globe, Yankee Magazine and Channel 5 Boston TV. Nancy was Guest Curator of a Handmade Furniture Show at the Fitchburg (MA) Art Museum in Spring 1991 before moving to Santa Fe in that same year.
